Fatemeh Farahan is a Los Angeles licensed marriage family therapist. She graduated with honors, from University of Southern California and Chapman University. She gained extensive experience in a variety of areas relating to relationships, addictions, anxiety and depression. Her internship at UCLA Matrix Institute was the start of her training in addiction. Fatemeh was a clinical specialist at Kaiser Permanente for 10 years and was instrumental in creating a relapse prevention program for the addiction medicine unit, as well as, treating dually diagnosed patients with clinical depression and anxiety. She has trained with world renowned couple’s therapist Dr. Gottman and has vast experience in applied neurobiology for children.
Fatemeh has been in private practice for over 15 years working with individuals, couples and parents in addressing a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. Fatemeh has also been a speaker at a variety of talks and presentations in hospitals, wellness centers, schools and corporate offices around the country.
Fatemeh is a member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is an active member of her community volunteering at the AIDS walk Los Angeles, LA Mission kitchen feeding the homeless, and the United Way giving support to families in need.
Fatemeh enjoys spending time with her husband and her family and relaxes by taking hikes, meditating and cooking.
